Itinerary

On arrival in Malvan, we will be visiting local temples and covering street mapping.


We will be visiting Sindadurga Fort, which is a historical sea fort. It was built by Shivaji to safeguard the maritime borders of his kingdom and from neighbouring rulers. Followed by providing as much information as possible about the history of Sawantwadi and interacting with the local community.


Firstly, we will visit Sawantwadi, which is a beautiful hill station. It is also well-known for its toys and handicrafts made of wood. Hence, we will have a small workshop on woodentoys and lacquered artifacts. We will also be visiting the Chitrali Market.


The mission for the day is to map the craft-making communities in Sawantwadi, to find wooden toys and lacquer artifacts, and we will have a workshop on Ganjifa Crafts in Sawantwadi Palace as well as the Museum.
